Cooperative lesson - Research
How did technology enhance my unit?
Using powerpoint for my direct instruction lesson helped provide an organized and efficient visual aid for the students. Note taking is often much more difficult for students if they only get an oral lecture. The students will use technology in two of the lessons. In the inquiry lesson, I developed a smartboard lesson which allows both the students and I to participate in interactive activities. Clicking, dragging, and writing on the smartboard makes the lesson interesting and the interactivity helps students stay on task too. Smartboard allows the students and the teacher to work together to find the answers. In the cooperative lesson, students will use the internet to research an aspect of Islamic civilization and culture. Research using the internet introduces students to a much larger amount of information then any single textbook or library can give them. Learning how to research is a skill that students can use far into the future.
